What The Neighbors Say

Long Beach 90808 isn’t the trendiest part of the city. That’s exactly why locals and guests alike love it.

Lush parks. Mature trees. Established neighborhoods. Multi-generational families. Walkable school routes where children still bike or walk to school. It is a safe andwell-cared for neighborhood where residents are proud to call home.

Everyday 90808

What I love most about 90808 isn't a park, a restaurant, or a particular street. It's the people.

The neighbor who leaves extra lemons at the curb. Those of us who take the trash bins in/out for our elderly. Dog owners who know every dog in the neighborhood but can never remember each other's names. Children ride bikes and play outside until dinner.

While we may spend our weekends exploring Long Beach's waterfront, farmers markets and local events. We come home to something increasingly rare.

A wave from across the street. A plant cutting shared over the fence. A neighbor checking on your house while you're away. These gestures are one of many reasons people stay.

Parks & Outdoor Living

One of the biggest advantages of living in 90808 is access to green space. El Dorado Park serves as the neighborhood's backyard, with walking trails, sports fields, picnic areas, a nature center, golf course, and plenty of room to spend time outdoors.

Residents consider these green spaces one of the neighborhood's greatest assets.

Dog owners also appreciate being just minutes from Rosie’s Dog Beach and Huntington Dog Beach.

Homes & Architecture

90808 is known for California midcentury ranch homes. Mature trees and native plants, pool homes and patios give the area a character that can be difficult to find in newer communities.

Residents take pride in their homes and gardens, creating streets that feel welcoming.

Neighborhood Traditions

Every holiday, streets in 90808 come alive with holiday lights, drawing evening walkers, families, and visitors from across Long Beach.

The light tunnel began as a simple idea between a few neighbors during the pandemic and has grown into a holiday tradition enjoyed by thousands each year.

Residents create illuminated arches that stretch from house to house, transforming ordinary sidewalks into glowing pathways.

The lights are beautiful, but what I love most is what they represent. For the tunnel to continue block after block, neighbors have to participate. Year after year, they do.
